What is the Music Marathon?
The Music Marathon is a fun musical event for all students in the Kawananakoa Band. Students will participate in small and large group sessions with some of the top performers and teachers in Hawaii including members of the Hawaii Symphony and the Royal Hawaiian Band. Through these sessions, students will develop their individual playing skills and develop new ensemble skills, which will help them to perform at their very best. The day will conclude with a free concert open to the public featuring all three of our concert bands as well as a food truck rally open to the general public.

How can I support the Kawananakoa Band?
The event is open to all students in the band, but we need help from our school community to get everything going. From volunteering to financial support, any support you can give or help to solicit will help to ensure that every student is able to participate. This is also a fundraising event and we hope to raise $5000 in net revenue to provide other great supports for the band program like instrument purchasing for our growing program, instrument repair, transportation costs, decreasing cost of consumable supplies, and purchasing new uniforms for our expanding program.
Pledge Parties
Leading up to the event, you'll see our students throughout the neighborhood sharing information about our event. Any donations you may be willing to give will help to support our band program. They can be given to students when you see them out with their pledge parties in the neighborhood. You can also make donations online or by mail. Checks should be made payable to the Kawananakoa Band Booster Club and are tax-deductible. The Kawananakoa Band is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Donations can also be mailed to us at:
