Tri-M Music Honor Society

What is Tri-M?
Tri-M is an exclusive music honor society for students to better serve their community through musical, and community services.

These students were nominated and selected to join this national organization and will participate in leadership training, special musical activities, and serve in leadership roles within the band during this time.
The members of our organization help to plan many of our events during the school year and provide tremendous musical leadership in our performing groups. Students are nominated by their peers for membership, but must take additional steps to be fully inducted as members. At a minimum, members are expected to have a "B" or better in their music classes as well as a 2.0 GPA in all classes. In addition, our chapter requires students to continue to show extra commitments to their musical growth and service toward others. Students must earn 5 points each quarter towards both Musical Excellence and Citizenship. This can be accomplished through things like private lessons, student-run ensembles, service projects, honor bands, attending concerts and clinics, and helping around the band room. Point logs are due the last Monday of each quarter to the Tri-M President. Those who fail to meet the academic requirements or our requirements for Musical Excellence and Citizenship may be placed on probation.

Many of our former members have continued to be the leaders of their school music programs as well as other organizations in their schools and communities. The lessons learned through their time in the Tri-M Music Honor Society have proven to be valuable and have made our members desirable members of any organization. Please encourage your child to become involved in Tri-M, work towards becoming a full-fledged member, and continue to pursue music and service towards others.
