Our Zippy's Benefit Fundraiser is kicking off this week and we need your help to support our students. Proceeds from the sales go to support various expenses including instrument purchasing, clinic sponsorship, concert/event support, and reducing the cost of consumable supplies. Due to the change in the bell schedule, all Intermediate Band Rehearsals that fall on Fridays will begin at 2:15 and end at 3:15. Any rehearsals that fall on other days of the week will begin at 3 and end at 4. There are no projected changes to the rehearsal times for the other bands.
Representative Sylvia Luke has asked us to assist with her community dinner here at Kawananakoa Middle School on 10/10/14. We need 12-15 volunteers to help with set-up, serving, and clean-up. If you are able to help, please visit www.charmsoffice.com to volunteer. We need a mixture of students and adults to help out. Volunteers are asked to come at 4:30 p.m. and should expect to stay until around 8:00 p.m.

The Hawaii Symphony is giving a free concert TOMORROW, Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. on the lanai of the Blaisdell Concert Hall. Apologies for the confusion about the date. Bring your lawn chairs, grab some food from the fantastic vendors at the farmers market, and enjoy a night of music with conductor Stuart Chafetz and the Hawaii Symphony.
Uniform fitting for all students will be on August 24th from 1-4 p.m. in the Band Room. All students will need to pay the aloha shirt rental fee and must purchase a band t-shirt. Students will also have the option to purchase pants and shoes through the booster club at that time.
Students who are unable to attend the fitting must schedule an alternate fitting with Mr. Chin by Wednesday, August 20th. Students must be fitted for a uniform to participate in performances. Please inquire with Mr. Chin if you need financial assistance.
